To group participants and visitors to our website:
No matter who or where we are, we are all concerned for the health and safety of loved ones, the people and businesses we rely upon and the global economy. The way that we work and live our daily lives has been impacted and will continue for some time to come. As we navigate through these unique and evolving challenges, we hope that everyone is doing well and remains safe.
We continue to educate when possible, update our website and post on LinkedIn to stay connected. Please reach out with any questions or in general.
We look forward to the time that we can meet in person as a group again!
Sincerely,
Board of Directors
WOMEN IN
SURETY
OUR VISION
Empowering and inspiring women in Surety
MISSION STATEMENT
Providing a network for professional development and connection
ABOUT US
Women In Surety (WIS) was created in November 2016 to form the first cohesive group for women in the surety industry to fill an industry gap, bring great minds together for support, mentorship and intellectual challenge, and to network with industry professionals. In January 2017, a Board of Directors consisting of senior surety representatives from all constituencies (surety companies and brokers in both the contract and commercial surety spaces) was formalized. By March of the same year, the group hosted its first event.
We continue to grow our membership with regularly planned educational and networking events, along with a mentorship program. While we started in the Northeast, we look forward to expanding nationally from nd presenting opportunities for surety women everywhere.
We welcome your interest and support.

GROUP NEWS
-
Education Committee - During the month of March, we will be hosting an educational series providing an in-depth look at the Surety Market in South America relative to market conditions, unique obligations, and current events. There will be three "Lunch & Learn" style virtual events taking place ( 3/3, 3/17, and 3/31). Check out our Events Section for details and to register for each event.
-
Events Committee - Our January 21, 2021 Kick-Off Event facilitated by TriviaHub was a great start to the year! Thanks to all who Zoomed-In for our "Stay Strong for Surety!" fitness event with Lynn Schubert on February 17, 2021. What a great way to move and stay engaged with each other! Stay tuned for upcoming events.
-
Membership & Communications Committee - The Board defined membership benefits/value proposition and dues for 2021. These details will be posted in 2021, along with activation of the Log-in/Sign-up feature on our website at that time. Our organization has plans to grow membership locally, but also expand as groups in larger cities across the U.S. and then internationally with time. Continue to check the various tabs on our website and on LinkedIn regarding updates, newsletters, and Member Spotlights throughout the year.
-
Mentorship Committee - The 2020 Mentoring Program launched in June with 24 participants. Each year we grow on the experiences from the prior year and make enhancements to the program. The opportunity to network and focus on career goals is as important as ever. A Mentee/Mentor Trivia Night was held on December 17, 2020 to connect, round out the year and have some fun!
